Job Description

Instructional Designer

The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and developing instructional materials and learning experiences that enhance knowledge transfer and skill development. The role involves analyzing learner needs, developing engaging course content, integrating instructional technologies, and ensuring high-quality training delivery standards in alignment with GHD|EMPHNET and IAPH objectives.

 

Scope of Work

The assigned “ Vacancy” will include the following tasks, activities, duties & responsibilities:

 

  1. Manage instructional material design and development from inception to completion.
  2. Consult with trainers on instructional design and learning objectives.
  3. Assist in the development of instructional strategies, course materials, assessment techniques, and effective integration of instructional technologies.
  4. Design and produce learning materials in multiple formats (print, graphics, audio, video, animation, multimedia).
  5. Support trainers in selecting technology tools and effective use of instructional software.
  6. Conduct instructional research and recommend educational best practices and tools.
  7. Design, develop, and deliver workshops to trainers and staff on instructional technologies and educational best practices.
  8. Facilitate curriculum development sessions, document findings, and prepare reports.
  9. Support in establishing training standards, specifications, and accreditation/certification programs.
  10. Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content.
  11. Work with subject matter experts to identify learners’ needs and align end goals with instructional design.
  12. Develop assessment tools (tests, quizzes, rubrics) to evaluate training effectiveness.
  13. Incorporate feedback and address comments from technical experts and stakeholders.
  14. Upload and maintain organized course records, including version control and documentation.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Job Specification

 

Education and Specialization:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Multimedia, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum years of experience: 7 years
  • Experience field: Instructional Design 
  • Other related experience:
      • Experience in instructional material design, training, or education.
      • Experience working with NGOs or international organizations.
      • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

 

Functional Competencies Required

  1. Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, curriculum development, and learning evaluation.

  2. Ability to design learning objectives, training strategies, and assessment tools.

  3. Proficiency in producing materials across formats (multimedia, graphics, video, eLearning).

  4. Familiarity with integrating instructional technologies and multimedia tools.

  5. Understanding of public health sciences concepts (health promotion, disease prevention, health protection).

  1. Creativity and innovation in instructional methods.
  2. Strong planning and organizational skills.
  3. Concern for quality and commitment to deadlines.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
