EMPHNET Joins the 7-1-7 Alliance to Advance Timely Outbreak Response

EMPHNET is now part of the 7-1-7 Alliance, a global initiative aimed at strengthening the timeliness and effectiveness of outbreak detection and response.

 

The 7-1-7 target promotes a rapid approach to managing infectious disease outbreaks by focusing on detecting a suspected outbreak within seven days, notifying public health authorities within one day, and completing early response actions within the following seven days.

 

This Alliance supports the implementation of the 7-1-7 target by offering practical resources, expert guidance, and hands-on technical support. It plays a key role in driving operational research, fostering knowledge exchange, and building strategic partnerships among essential stakeholders. By offering catalytic funding and facilitating access to broader financing opportunities, the Alliance helps countries advance their adoption efforts. Supported by a Secretariat at Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL), the Alliance unites country representatives, institutional partners, and a growing global community to accelerate progress toward the 7-1-7 target.

 

By joining the Alliance, EMPHNET accelerates its support to enhancing health security in the region and beyond by strengthening emergency preparedness and response capacities, while empowering cross-country knowledge sharing and other forms of collaborative learning. This engagement also strengthens EMPHNET’s role in supporting countries to build more responsive health systems capable of addressing current and future public health threats.

 

In this regard, EMPHNET, through its various memberships, continues to contribute by actively engaging in stakeholder platforms—helping to exchange perspectives, and advance collective progress in public health emergency preparedness and response.
