Internship Opportunity: HIV Programming

Are you interested in HIV programs, community health, and regional public health initiatives?

EMPHNET is offering an internship opportunity within the Disease Control and Prevention Team. The opportunity is open to students and recent graduates interested in gaining practical experience in regional HIV programming, project coordination, and the development of communication and learning materials.

About the Opportunity

EMPHNET serves as the Principal Recipient of the HIV Multi-Country Grant (MCMENA III), working with partners across the Middle East and North Africa to strengthen the regional HIV response.

The project supports country-level HIV activities, collaboration with civil society organizations, and community-led, rights-based HIV services. It also promotes cross-country learning and advances the sustainability of HIV programs.

The intern will support the project team in developing communication and learning materials, documenting activities, and organizing project information and deliverables.

By joining us, you will:

Gain practical experience in regional public health program management and the HIV response.
Develop skills in preparing communication and learning materials.
Strengthen your ability to review technical content and document project activities.
Gain exposure to donor reporting and project implementation processes.
Learn how EMPHNET coordinates with partners across multiple countries.
Access learning opportunities through the Engage Internship Program.

The intern’s main responsibilities include:

Supporting the development of presentations, briefs, learning materials, and other project content.
Reviewing draft materials for clarity, consistency, completeness, and alignment with project terminology.
Documenting meetings, Learning Café sessions, and other activities, including meeting notes and action points.
Organizing project documents and maintaining records of activities and deliverables.

Requirements:

Education: A current Master of Public Health (MPH) student or a recent MPH graduate, or a student or recent graduate in Health Sciences or a related field.
Skills: Strong writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Language: Strong command of English. Arabic and/or French language skills are an advantage.
Personal: An interest in HIV, community health, and gaining exposure to regional public health programming.

Internship details:

Duration: Three to six months, based on project needs.
Location: Open to candidates from any location; priority will be given to candidates based in Amman, Jordan, or Cairo, Egypt.
Note: This is an unpaid internship opportunity.
